Megh launches VAS for Smart Buildings

Megh Computing Introduces an Innovative Intelligent Video Analytics
Solution for Smart Buildings

VAS for Smart Buildings provides security and surveillance for venues by generating actionable insights that reduce physical risks and improve operational efficiencies

Hillsboro, OR, May 16, 2022—Megh Computing, a leading provider of intelligent video analytics solutions, today announced the release of its VAS for Smart Buildings, providing security and surveillance for office buildings, retail establishments, multi-family complexes, industrial sites, and other venues. The solution enables managed service providers and IoT solution aggregators to offer enhanced physical security to occupants and visitors and improve operational efficiencies. The solution uses advanced AI models to deliver high operational reliability with accurate actionable insights that dramatically reduces the incidence of false alarms and delivers cost savings.

VAS for Smart Buildings will be introduced at the Embedded Vision Summit in Santa Clara, CA, on May 17 and 18. Megh Computing will demonstrate the solution with a live camera feed in Intel’s booth (#305). The software will be running on an Intel NUC edge gateway.

The offering supports various physical security use cases that are available for deployment with the solution. These include loiter detection, intrusion detection, people occupancy, and people tracking. Megh can also develop and deploy custom use cases for better ROI using VAS SDK to incorporate new AI models or analytics into the solution.

Based on Megh’s innovative Video Analytics Solution (VAS) platform, VAS for Smart Buildings is built on Open Analytics principles. The VAS platform is powered by the Nimble Framework, which implements the complete video analytics pipeline and is fully customizable. VAS can be targeted for various deployment models, from edge gateways to enterprise servers in the cloud.

The solution can run on platforms using CPUs, GPUs FPGAs, or SOCs to deliver the lowest TCO. It can be deployed across multiple sites and managed through a single pane of glass through VAS Portal, which runs in the cloud and provides a browser-based interface to configure and manage sites.

“We are seeing excellent traction across all geographic regions for our new VAS solution, as it provides a scalable, flexible, and performant solution to meet market needs,” said Prabhat K Gupta, CEO of Megh Computing. “The solution is designed to be white-labeled by our partners.”
